Forgiving

There is a lot of anger and hurt in this world. Most of it could be avoided with the touch of a forgiving heart.

The Bible has a lot to say about forgiving.

Who do you think is hurt most when you wont forgive someone. Is it the person that you are at odds with?

It has been my experience that by holding a grudge hurts you more than the person that you are not willing to forgive. It will eat at you like a cancer, destroying your happiness, your joy, your life and can even become habit.

I have seen people that seem to get their happiness from being mad and holding grudges. One of them was me.

Consider this, if God, the creator of the universe, can forgive that man for all of his sins then who are we not to be able to forgive that man for something he has done to you. How could you expect for God to forgive you if you can not forgive.

If you are having problems with forgiving someone, I have news for you. It is you that is being hurt for not being able to forgive that person.

I know that sometimes it seems impossible to forgive someone for something they have done but it is something that you have to do.

When you forgive someone that has done you wrong, it will feel like a huge burden has been lifted off of your shoulders. You will be able to live again. Your joy, happiness and life can be restored to you.

I know from experience that not being able to forgive someone for something they have done has certainly hurt me a lot more than the person I will not forgive.

Think of Jesus, nailed to the cross, a crown of thorns on his head, shedding his blood for us so that we will have a chance for salvation. People were cursing him, spitting on him, mocking him. What a torturous and humiliating death and what does He say?

-CEV- Luke 23:34 Jesus said, "Father, forgive these people! They don't know what they're doing." While the crowd stood there watching Jesus, the soldiers gambled for his clothes. The leaders insulted him by saying, "He saved others. Now he should save himself, if he really is God's chosen Messiah!"

Have you ever thought about what Jesus was charged with by law for him to be put to death?

-CEV- John 19:19 Pilate ordered the charge against Jesus to be written on a board and put above the cross. It read, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews."

that is what he was legally charged with...

If Jesus could forgive the people that were crusifying him in such a horrible way, how can we not forgive one another for things not nearly so bad or absurd. He did this as tremendous pain was shooting through his body.

If you want to experience a joy that is beyond belief, forgive someone that you are at odds with. The feeling is tremendous. There are more benefits to forgiving than what you feel. It draws you closer to Jesus. Your walk with Him is so much closer. That is the true good feeling that you get.

Some of you may say "I will forgive him but i will never forget it.", is that really forgiveness? With time and prayer, even the thought of what this person did will begin to fade in your memory. But it is you that has to pray, talk to God and partake in the forgetting process. It will come to a point where it doesn't hurt you anymore.

Please people, forgive one another just as the Lord will forgive us of our sins and all the while, we are not worthy of his forgiveness or anything else from him. It all comes from love. Jesus loves us so much that he will forgive us of our sins.

There is one thing for certain.

You will need to be forgiven for your sins in order to have eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven and you will not be nearly as worthy of being forgiven.

-CEV- Mark 11:25 Whenever you stand up to pray, you must forgive what others have done to you. Then your Father in heaven will forgive your sins.

If you have hard feelings for someone and you cant forgive this person that has wronged you then remember this, if you wont........

Jesus will.
