A Walk in Faith

Faith

a simple 5 letter word

Although it be a simple word, it is a very hard word to follow

The Bible says that faith the size of a grain of mustard seed will move mountains

Mat 17:20 Jesus replied: It is because you don't have enough faith! But I can promise you this. If you had faith no larger than a mustard seed, you could tell this mountain to move from here to there. And it would. Everything would be possible for you.

yet it seems that just to keep the faith that God will work out our problems and see us through our trials is one of the hardest things to accomplish.

Jesus is our only hope for salvation so if you have Jesus in your heart, you have faith that will require hope and expectation.

Heb 11:1 Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see.

That is only one of the ways that faith is to be considered.

When it seems like all is lost and our walls are tumbling in around us, faith takes on another meaning.

We will have the faith that by putting our problems at Jesus' feet, he will help us overcome them.

It has to be more than just a word. It has to be followed by actions.

Jas 2:14 My friends, what good is it to say you have faith, when you don't do anything to show that you really do have faith? Can that kind of faith save you?

The actions of thanking God for his love.

Jas 1:2 My friends, be glad, even if you have a lot of trouble. 3 You know that you learn to endure by having your faith tested.

The actions of believing without a doubt that our problems will be taken care of in the way that our Lord knows is best for us and moving in the direction that God tells us to move.

Followed by the actions of rejoicing in God for his unfailing mercy and accepting the outcome of the event as being what is best for you.

As in James 1:2, it is an honor to be faced with a trial considering that it is making you stronger in your faith and preparing you to help God in his works.

I am sure that many of you have heard this story.

There was a flood in a major city. A man was stranded on top of his house. He asked God to rescue him.

After a few minutes a boat came by and asked the man if he needed help.

He said no, God is going to help me.

A few moments later, a helicopter came by and a man came down on a rope to save this man.

The stranded man said "I don't need your help, God is going to rescue me".

The man died in the flood. When he got to heaven he asked God "why didn't you rescue me?"

God said "I tried but you turned your back on the help i sent to you."

God will help us with our problems.

Sometimes it takes us getting up and moving and being able to recognize that God uses other people to help him do his work. Sometimes the person he uses may be you.

1Co 3:9 Apollos and I work together for God, and you are God's garden and God's building. br>
God knows what he is doing. The Bible states clearly that all things work together with good for those who love the Lord.

Rom 8:28 We know that God is always at work for the good of everyone who loves him. They are the ones God has chosen for his purpose,

So the next time you have problems and are ready to turn them over to the Lord, go ahead and turn it over to Him, then stay out of his way and let him work it out. Keep your senses keen and move when He says move.

Don't think for a second that once you have turned the problem over to the Lord that you will not have to take part in resolving it or you may wind up like the man stranded on his house.

So many times I have asked Jesus to help me with a problem that I am having and the next thing I know, here I am again, trying to fix the problem myself.

This usually only makes the problem worse and I wind up with more problems that I then have to turn to Jesus and ask for his help again. This can quickly turn into a cycle of not getting the original problem corrected but multiplying the problem many times over.

Once I learned to stay out of His way and let Him work the problem out, the problem gets fixed. Many times it appears that the problem isn't actually fixed (looking at it through my own eyes) but by having the faith to know that He has the problem under control, I usually see why certain problems were worked out the way they were.

Look at all the other people you have faith in without a second thought.

The people that built your house. Are you worried that it will come crashing in on you at any moment?

The builders of a bridge that you drive over. Will it hold strong?

The car driving next to you. Will the driver swerve and hit you?

How about the man that made the tire on the car driving next to you. Will it blow out and the car hit you?

There are many things that we put our faith in everyday without even thinking about it.

How can you possibly have trouble putting your faith in God, the creator of the World, the Master of the universe? Surely he is much more deserving of faith than the many people we put our faith in everyday without even thinking about it.

If you are wanting a close walk with Jesus, you must have faith and as we practice that faith, it will become as easy as having the same faith that we have in those that surround everything we do everyday in our lives.

Faith

A mere five letter word yet one of the hardest things to achieve in this life. This is a major building block in our walk with the Lord.
